The invitation to attend an Alpha Course came at a time when I was at the crossroad of my so-called ‘Christian Life’. I had reached a point of mediocrity, where I was left with only two options … either forget it, or search for new meaning. I was somehow more drawn towards pursuing the second option.
I was still unsure about what Alpha could do for me but it was soon to prove a total experience. The atmosphere during the meetings was a friendly, welcoming one, but most of all it was one of acceptance. During the group discussions which followed each talk on DVD, I was given the space to question, re-evaluate and work through issues which I had taken for granted as part of my childhood religious knowledge. I started experiencing a new approach to the Christian faith and consciously accepted it as the guiding light of my life.
This then started me off on an exciting journey with Christ as the centre of my life. A life in Christ is one of joy and openness, it’s not always easy, but always exciting and meaningful.
