I had been told of the Alpha course time and again however I never found the time for it. In 2008 I came to a point in my life where I was standing at crossroads needing to take a number of serious decisions. I thought that perhaps attending the Alpha course would help me and so I finally made the time for it.
Each Alpha evening started with a tasty meal followed by a humorous and down to earth talk and ended with an interesting discussion within a small group of people my age.
I found the talks extremely relevant to my life. They answered many of the questions I had relating to my faith and they also challenged me to stop and think about my life and where I was going. Within the small group I found that as the weeks progressed a special bond was being built and I felt comfortable and at home. I looked forward to each week with enthusiasm.
Most of all, I would say that through attending the Alpha course I found true friendships, joy and peace in my heart and the embrace of God's love. All this helped me to take the hard decisions that needed to be taken in my life.
I look back and am so grateful that I attended the Alpha course. Jesus made and is still making a difference to my life. |
